Un-wrapping 2018

As we wind down for Christmas, we thought we would reflect on some of the things Celestra has been lucky to be involved with this year.

We can all agree that 2018 has been one of relentless change and development. Moving out of 2017 where we celebrated turning 10, announcing a new headquarters and our future goals, we have continued riding the crest of the wave of success which shows no sign of slowing down. This year we have embarked and completed some of the most successful projects the company has ever been involved with which has paved a new path for us in 2019.



That stand-out project was our partnership with Costa on their WRS roll-out project. The project aimed to deliver a new solution across their UK and Ireland estate. Celestra provided the Engineering Team, comprehensive Project Manageme

nt and detailed project coordination, as well as all the warehousing and logistics for the deployment. The result was a project that finished early, with an incredible 56 days to complete 1300 site roll-out and only 6 weeks to get the project setup, trained and planned.

Celestra is superbly proud of this project, as it clearly identifies our core values, without our core values we would not be achieving these kinds of accomplishments. (check our 5Cs here and how our company values dictate how we work with or clients)



Another positive we have continued to develop, is our new technology deployment. In partnership with Acrelec we supported McDonalds with their Experience of The Future roll out with Kiosks and have embarked on kiosk development on the KFC Customer Experience Project as their installation partners. We have also worked with companies like Box Technologies to develop solutions with clients such as the POS 350 till and iRuggy tablets which is revolutionising the way brands interact with their customers through queue-busting, upselling and processing payments and orders. Charity and fundraising have always been an integral part of the Celestra culture, and this year has been no different with several events that have raised thousands for charity over the year. From supporting the Milton Keynes Hospital Neonatal Unit, through to supporting our client’s charities like the Costa Foundation, The Ronald McDonald’s House Charity and BBC Children In Need, we have tirelessly raised some of the highest fundraising amounts ever. Our teams have scaled mountains, competed in football tournaments, paddled in Dragonboats, cycled vast distances, and there may have been a gunging here or there. Thank you to all that have donated this year and here’s to an equally charitable 2019!



The dynamics of our teams have also changed with people developing their roles to encompass more responsibilities with some department sizes increasing by two or three people in some cases. From employing extra managers to deal with the ever-increasing warehouse and logistical side of the business, hiring on Intern to support the Marketing and Sales department, and apprentices in our Tech Services department. Everybody has worked so hard to keep the Celestra ship on a smooth course so thank you for all your hard work!

We are now looking forward to making the final move early next year and starting the next chapter in the Celestra journey.
